• Your child’s deed poll which will be drawn up, by our expert, specifically for your child’s circumstances;
• A statement confirming that everyone with parental responsibility for your child has given their permission to change your child’s name;
• Full certification of your child’s deed poll, confirming that it is a true original document that has been prepared by us;
• A detailed information and guidance booklet which tells you how to sign your child’s deed and who to inform about the change of name, as well as other useful advice;
• Template letters, containing details of your child’s change of name, so that you can send them with your child’s deed when informing companies and organisations about the name change;
• A protective Polypropylene folder which will ensure that everything, especially your child’s deed poll, is kept safe, secure and in excellent condition.

Once we have the required details, we will prepare and fully certify your child’s deed poll so that it can be delivered directly to you. Only to people who have parental responsibility for your child need to sign their deed, which needs to be done in the presence of a witness - it is then legal and ready to use straight away.

The witness can be anyone over the age of 18 who is not related to your child and who does not live with them. The witness does not need to be a professional person, therefore, there is no need to pay a doctor or someone similar to witness you signing your child’s deed - a friend or neighbour can do this for you.

A solicitor is NOT required to prepare, sign or authenticate your child’s deed poll. We fully certify every deed we prepare to confirm that they are true originals which have been prepared by us.

Certified copies are particularly useful if you have a lot of people to inform about your change of name, it also means you can send a copy of your deed poll to most people instead of your original. This not only reduces the risk of your original being lost or damaged, but it also saves you time as you can inform multiple people about your change of name simultaneously.

The Identity & Passport Service and The DVLA will only accept your original deed as proof of your change of name, so having copies can be extremely useful as you will still have proof of your change of change available while these organisations are processing your applications.

The first copy is charged at £10 and you can have as many additional copies prepared as you require for just £4 per additional copy.

If your deed is archived it means that, should you lose your original deed, you can request a Certified Copy from our archive instead of having to have a new deed poll prepared, for which you would be required to pay the full fee.

When your deed is archived, you can request Certified Copies of your deed at any time, without having to return your original to us again. You will also receive a 50% discount on any of our Certified Copies services if you use these in the future.

• Archiving of the Certified Copy of your child’s deed.

Once everyone with parental responsibility for your child, and your witness, have signed your child's deed poll, you can return it to us so that we can prepare a Certified Copy of your child’s deed to be placed into our archive.

If your child’s deed is archived it means that, should you lose their original deed, you can request a Certified Copy from our archive instead of having to have a new deed poll prepared, for which you would be required to pay the full fee.

When your child’s deed is archived, you can request Certified Copies of it at any time, without having to return your child’s original to us again. You will also receive a 50% discount on any of our Certified Copies services if you use these in the future.

• Fast-Track of your application.

Applications are usually processed within 7-10 working days but if you would like to receive your deed poll quicker, you can Fast-Track your application.

Fast-Tracked applications will be processed on the day that they are received (if received by 4.30pm on a working day) and your deed poll will be prepared and sent to you that same day.

Applications received after 4.30pm on a working day, at weekends, or on a bank holiday, will be processed the next working day.

Our Standard Delivery Service is offered free of charge with all of our services.

Once your documents have been prepared, they will be sent to you by First Class Post, with a delivery guidance of 2-3 working days. However, no guaranteed delivery time is offered with this service option, these delivery times are for guidance only.

If you require your documents sooner or would like a guaranteed delivery time, then you should use Fast-Track Priority Service and choose the Special Delivery option.

• Delivery of your documents by First Class Recorded (Signed For) Post.

Once your documents have been prepared, they will be sent to you by Royal Mail’s First Class Recorded (Signed For) service with a delivery guidance of 2-3 working days. However, no guaranteed delivery time is offered with this service option, these delivery times are for guidance only.

If you require your documents sooner or would like a guaranteed delivery time, then you should use Fast-Track Priority Service and choose the Special Delivery option.
